Carmen in Amphitheatre in Avenches // Cities

A few weeks ago we went away for a weekend, we went to the french part of Switzerland, the west. And booked a hotel in a pretty village called Murten/Morat. After a little walk arround the village and even the old protection walls, which was phenomenal! The sight we had from up there is indescribable! We then wandered through the rest of the village and had a quick stop for drinks, before we went to our rooms and got changed for dinner.

Some hours later we went and had dinner in a Steakhouse a little further up the street our hotel was situated on. Everyone except me had a steak, I had the housemade Pasta which were pretty good too! The steaks were phenomenal, well anyways the pieces i got to taste...

After having met an old friend we took the train to Avenches and walked our way up to the amphitheatre. As one got out of the train you had to walk up a hill were the theatre was situated and on the side facing the trainstation and the lake there were lots and lots of people sitting on blankets, watching the sunset whilst eating bread and cheese and drinking wine. And that was the utter most french thing I have ever seen in my entire life! So now I want to do that too! even if it's just once in this summer I want to sit down with a good friend, some fresh bread, good cheese and a bottle of sparkling wine.

Continuing on tho the amphitheatre we entered the arena and were blown away by its complicity! since we for some reason expected it to be damaged... Probably used to the coloseum too much^^  The performance itsself wasn't too bad, just not exactly my cup of tea...
