Kodaline and Jack Johnson at the Moon and Stars in Locarno // Music

Tuesday 15th July, in Locarno on the Grande Piazza  Kodaline Started the evening with an absolutely wonderful performance that left us all breathless, I had always liked their music and wanted to go to one of their concerts since I heard of them for the very first time and I promise you, if you ever go and watch them you will not be dissapointed, my personal favourite was "Love Like This"

After that came Jack Johnson and I tell you that was one of the best concerts I have ever attended, and I tell you I have seen so many! It was simply one of the most laid back and comfortable atmospheres I have ever endured at a concert with that may people. And eventhough I was sad it ended I can truly say in that moment I was happy and content with life, which somebody who works and goes to school all in one week cannot say often.

The crowd was great, the atmosphere stunning and after it all was ver a feeling of sense and community went through the crowd.
What more could you possibly want from a concert?

Number One the Answer // Letters to Me

                                                                                      Switzerland, 4th October 2014 3.40 p.m.

Dear Past Self,

I do not find this concept weird in the slightest, because weirdly enough I do seem to remember you writing this letter in the middle of the night...

Onwards I go with answering your Questions; I havent sat down in a while and actually thought about that, but come as you ask. Yes, yes I am very happy right now, yes there is quite a bit of stress in school, but it is nothing I don't think isn't managable. I am happy because in the last few weeks I have been able to meet and catch up with quite a few of my dearest friends, maybe not always in the happiest of circumstances, but the sole fact that we were able to be spend some time together was worth all of the hastle we've had through the start of the year...

Oh! Yes of course your eighteenth Birthday was a smash, believe me. And no mum didn't bring out the embarassing slideshow, your lovely cousin did...
But we all had a big laugh and moved on with it, I must admit, it wasn't as ground breaking as we thought it would be but it was still a pretty good day.

Yes my Dear you were worrying quite a bit too much, all of your exams went very very well, and your on the best way to pass the maturity school, apart from that you have done quite some exciting things during summer! My god, you went on holidays with a bunch of friends of yours for the very first time, then you had a blast at some of the biggest festivals they do here at home, and foremost, you have met lots and lots of incredible people...

I would never forget you but I also know that everyone grows with time...

xx your future self

PS: and we definately still want to live in London ;)

Number One // Letters to Me

                                                                           Switzerland, 11th May 2014 10.30 pm.

Dear Future self,

Maybe you will find this weird that I started this, but right now it seems like a really good idea.
But I wanted to ask you a few questions, that will hopefully be answered sometime in the future.

Since right now I am feeling quite down and depressed, even though the week ahead is really one to look ahead to. But the only thing I want to do is hide away and dream about living in London. I wanted to ask you how things are going, are you happy? and please not just the standard answer I usually give, containing the worst fake smile saying of course I am happy how could I not be? please answer me truthfully...

Furthermore, my eighteenth Birthday is coming up and as I asume you must have already survived that one... So tell me how was it? Did mum really bring out a greatly embarrasing slideshow or could she contain herself? Was it really an unforgettable Birthday, as every one makes it out to be? Or was it just another ordinary Birthday with a little bit more faff?

And finally the last few Questions, am I worrying too much about everything at the time or was it really good that I am worrying alot? Because that is something nobody ever tells you...

I hope you wont forget me, cause I still am a Part of you...

xx your past self

Worrying

Definition:  Worry refers to the thoughts, images and emotions of a negative nature in which mental attempts are made to avoid anticipated potential threats. As an emotion it is experienced as anxiety or concern about a real or imagined issue, often personal issues such as health or finances, or broader issues such as environmental pollution and social or technological change. (source Wikipedia)

It is something one does and one can't stop oneself doing. It's something that bothers the one doing it especially if your doing it for no reason at all. But undeniably it's something human.

But why does one do it even if you know you're doing it for absolutely no reason at al? And why does one usually worry double as much after some one just told you not to worry? Is it the undeniable feeling one has in his gut saying no matter what everyone else says, you are going to fail, or something very bad is going to happen even though everyone sais it won't.

Mo for example, I always start worrying as soon as the situation changes and I'm not used to the outcome or as soon as I have to do something completely out f my comfort zone. Which is comprehensible. If I think about it but still the worrying part of me sometimes stops me from doing lots of very good stuff simply because I then think too much about what could and would happen if I didn't do this or that.

So what does one think, should you start ignring your own worrying in order to be able to do some great things, or should you listen to the worrying part and miss out on some great opportunities, but have fully trusted and acted upon your own gut?

me for myself i think that sometimes I should make myself g out of my Comfort Zone but still listen to myself and know when I have reached my boarder...

Carmen in Amphitheatre in Avenches // Cities

A few weeks ago we went away for a weekend, we went to the french part of Switzerland, the west. And booked a hotel in a pretty village called Murten/Morat. After a little walk arround the village and even the old protection walls, which was phenomenal! The sight we had from up there is indescribable! We then wandered through the rest of the village and had a quick stop for drinks, before we went to our rooms and got changed for dinner.

Some hours later we went and had dinner in a Steakhouse a little further up the street our hotel was situated on. Everyone except me had a steak, I had the housemade Pasta which were pretty good too! The steaks were phenomenal, well anyways the pieces i got to taste...

After having met an old friend we took the train to Avenches and walked our way up to the amphitheatre. As one got out of the train you had to walk up a hill were the theatre was situated and on the side facing the trainstation and the lake there were lots and lots of people sitting on blankets, watching the sunset whilst eating bread and cheese and drinking wine. And that was the utter most french thing I have ever seen in my entire life! So now I want to do that too! even if it's just once in this summer I want to sit down with a good friend, some fresh bread, good cheese and a bottle of sparkling wine.

Continuing on tho the amphitheatre we entered the arena and were blown away by its complicity! since we for some reason expected it to be damaged... Probably used to the coloseum too much^^  The performance itsself wasn't too bad, just not exactly my cup of tea...

Blues n' Jazz in Rapperswil // Music

Unfortunately I forgot to bring my camera to this outing, so I'll just tell you how it was. We went on the first night which was friday. As soon as we got there we had a good look at every one of the three stages arround Rapperswil and then opted for the mainstage which luckily was situated beside our restaurant, so we listened to the lovely Stina Stenerud & her soul replacement for half an hour and then went to the restaurant Steinbock. Where we had a delightful meal, I had the ricotta ravioli with oil and sage and the others must have had very good food too, because everything was gone in a matter of minutes. A friend then wanted to go and watch Bastian Baker so we went down to the mainstage again and had a lovely time there. After his set we met up with the other group and went to the second stage which featured an unbeatable Dana Fuchs, until midnight when it started to bucket down badly, but luckily we reached shelter fast enough before we got soaked.

The boys rescued themselves under the shelter of a bar and then met up with us after most of the rain had finished. Fortunately the bar was right beside another stage which was being occupied by Davina & the Vagabonds who absolutely rocked that harbour! even though everything was completely drenched, everyone was dancing either on the ground or on the tables, and believe me there was more than one person who fell off... But everyone stayed until her set was over which was over an hour later but I tell you that lady was worth my feet hurting in the morning that followed.

What I can also confirm is that during this stressfull time it was one of the best nights I've had in the whole of this year probably, maybe even for the whole time I have been working...

Introduction to Aarau // Cities

This Morning I took the 10.38 Train from the Zurich Main station to Aarau. To visit a Friend living near the city, I had decided, that instead of her always coming to Zurich to meet me I should turn the tables and visit her in Aarau, and see what one can do there, so she picked me up and after having a look at the biggest train station clock in the whole of Switzerland, we went into the old city part and had a look around for some breakfast and found a lovely Pancake place near the old city part, where She had the Cherry and Quark Pancakes and I opted for the dried fruit and honey option. Which both were lovely we then had a little stroll arround the rest of the city and took some pictures:

It was a stunning day out, and if you ever get the time, go and have a look arroud! Its really cute. and I've also heard that the art museum must be really good :)
